An interesting idea! It's about taking advantage of the pathways you've already built with your bad habits but changing the outcome.
I don't know if it's similar, but I've managed to create a Pavlovian association between music and work. Whenever I work I put on the same playlist, and that gets me in the zone. So whenever I'm not in the mood or distracted, I get that playlist and my body responds with more focus and energy toward work.
