Boosting people's engagement with surveys is quite challenging nowadays, especially when you have other ways to get the data.
Surveys have gotten quite a bad reputation. You're asked to fill a survey wherever you go (offline and online). We are oversaturated with them!

What if we used other means, that also attract the customer's attention? I work in a firm that uses facial recognition to test people's reactions towards a variety of contents. We can complement it with simple Q&A, but the main focus is on using AI and Neuroscience to measure people's emotions towards the brand's audiovisual stimuli.
Have you heard about this approach?
I'm not saying discard surveys entirely, but as you point out, we need to improve them significantly and use other means too, I would add.
