Do you mean ignorance is bliss? Not until you get a lawsuit on an envelope. I think you should share especially because you want to avoid sounding like something else.
There's indeed nothing entirely original (even the greatest as Nietzsche suffered from this effect) but we should try to avoid it if we can. I'm not saying you can't borrow from others (in fact, it was a common practice before) but if you can contrast your work before launching it, why shouldn't you?
