I agree, genuine interest is indeed the foundation of effective listening. When we're truly engaged and curious about the topic or person speaking, it drives us to pay attention and comprehend better.

If we find ourselves disengaged, acknowledging it and communicating honestly can be more beneficial than pretending to listen.
