I haven't heard of the pioneer syndrome and from what you write about it I like it. It's good to have that shift of perspective.

Not everything we do will have that new component ("no one has done this before, nobody belonged here historically, new context for pioneers", etc.) but we can approach it by actively listening, experimenting, and being open to change.
