I think this is the other way around. Light travels at 300,000 km per second, and a visual input will arrive way faster than a sound input. It's like looking at people playing tennis from a distance, you first see them hit the ball and then you hear the sound.
But maybe if we're thinking about a very dense surrounding, let's say a jungle, your hearing is what will save you from death since you'll barely be able to see your predator in time to react.
