I agree, mainstream artists have big teams behind them and are regularly included in most viewed playlists while small artists can't get even close to the amount of exposition these big players have.

There should be a "discover new artists" recommended playlist on Spotify, but one that only features musicians with let's say 2000 or fewer streams per month, don't you think?

Well, something like that and a fundamental change in their revenue policy of course, but just throwing some ideas out there.
