Interesting article. Sometimes experts say that first we have to become more productive and only then we can reduce our workweek hours.

But maybe it's the other way around. If we have less time at work we need to be productive otherwise we won't be able to get it all done. This happened in the Nordic countries and I wrote an article about it if you're interested:

Now, when it comes to working hours, we've consistently decreased the amount of time we work, formally. From 70+ hours in 1870 to around 40 today, that's a huge decrease, like you can see in this chart: https://ourworldindata.org/working-hours

However, we now have more informal work, we have side hustles, and those aren't accounted for.
