Maybe certain roles shouldn’t be compensated for something that can’t be quantified as being the same work, as the creative roles you mentioned. And we could also level down with equal pay instead of raising it for everyone.

What happens with people that aren’t so great at negotiating? Because the asymmetry between the company/boss and the worker can be quite difficult to handle from the employee’s side. And if it always seems like a zero-sum game, it gets tiresome.

It’s challenging to find a balance where there’s some pay equality but at the same time room for exceptional people to get exceptional wages.
