On one hand, we have that trend of cancel culture you talk about which doesn't allow for full transparency in the name of truth.
On the other hand, we have a system that can take a lot of time, and sometimes you don't have the luxury of taking the time needed to fully challenge baseline assumptions to make a decision.
It's tricky, right?
I guess the underlining effect here is our emotional intelligence. If we are unable to test our beliefs, because of fear of exposing our vulnerability, and on top of that we have a culture that overreacts with emotion and doesn't let it reflect on them (since they're overwhelmed by them), then it's difficult to get one step closer to the truth or at least to something resembling it (at least you tried approaching it, right?).
