Very valuable tips! I'm just concerned with the idea of paid reviewers. I understand it's a job, and they actually analyze the book thoroughly, but isn't there a conflict of interest?

I mean, no one is going to pay somebody to make their sales decrease because of the work they've done. And it can be an excellent job on their part, but there's a thin line here, both parties expect a good outcome (author: good review; reviewer: good pay). I know there's no one definitive solution, I'm just thinking out loud.
