We can go down a very scary rabbit whole if we keep on ruminating. Like a feedback loop that won't stop. And it's great to give some tips at the end on how to abandon this thought pattern.
I seem to remember this line from the movie Bridge of Spies when they ask an alleged spy on trial if he is worried about all that's happening to him, and he simply states "would it help?"
I hope we could tell our brain to focus just on things that will help it.
