We’re bombarded with messages that speak to this binary mindset from our early youth, so imagine trying to change all that after years of hearing the same words over and over again. It’s a tough challenge ahead!

The first step is to become aware of the mind’s chitchat, and only then we can start doing something about it. I like to use meditation in this process. It helps me hear both the loud thought patterns and the subtle ones. The latter is even more powerful in defining who we are!

And this goes beyond the meditation practice. You become more aware of what’s happening inside throughout the day…it’s a great tool to help us change how we think and react to things.
