Why Men Have Dominated Women Throughout History?
Let’s put 3 theories to the test
As a woman time traveler, there’re not many societies you’d want to visit and live there. Even in those moments when women were at the top (e.g. Cleopatra, Elizabeth I), you wouldn’t have had an easier day-to-day life. These historical figures were still surrounded mainly by men: soldiers, judges, lawyers, priests, teachers, students, writers, poets, and scientists were all men (with a few exceptions).
Patriarchy has ruled for so long in almost all societies. Every new conqueror would impose similar norms in their empire, discriminating against women every single time. Even societies with no contact between them for thousands of years, like America and Euroasia, remained patriarchal.
Why then do almost all cultures value men over women?
