Wow, a terrifying story. A sick person that nobody treated or even suspected until too much damage was done. It's interesting to look at the family's and police's lack of involvement in all of this.

If you get information from multiple sources (Timea, Andries, etc.) you should at least look into it and not dismiss it so easily. What a pity, so much could've been avoided.
